Boxed again today. Learned a basic jab combination.
It's pretty fun, and definitely a good workout. I did much better with the jump
roping this week than the previous week. My legs aren't nearly as fatigued.
Just signed up for the Washington State Motorcycle class. Gonna take
it with Alan in April. Now just gotta figure out how I'm gonna get a bike afterwards...
Currently reading What's So Amazing About Grace? by Philip Yancey.
Not all that far as of yet, but so far it's quite good. It brings up a lot of
good questions and points. Just finished reading the chapter regarding the world
and how it yearns for grace. It is true though that though we ought to exemplify
grace and our very lives ought to reflect our Lord's grace... often what we
portray is in fact ungrace (a word?). Instead of grace we judge, instead of
compassion we neglect, instead of stepping up we pass people off. I'm sure we
have all been guilty of it in our life. Well, as I read more I guess I shall
update. It's almost like a book report haha.
February 27,2003 - 10.10PM
This week has been weird. I feel like I'm a day ahead. I could have
sworn it was Thursday on Wednesday, and today felt like it should have been
Friday. Guess that's how it goes sometimes. Well, tomorrow really is Friday.
I could use a little bit of rest :)
haha, I got myself a gangsta name: Green Egg Gat Slinga. Wanna find out your
gangsta name? Go here - Gangsta
Name some of them are quite funny. I just typed in the letter j
and my gangsta name was Supa-Sprung Forty Sippa. hahaha

Wow, almost the exact same time as last night. Hmm... guess it just
worked out that way. Went to eat at a Mediterranean restaurant today. It was
quite good, but lots and lots of food. I think I probably ate only half of the
entree. Probably filled up to quickly on the pita bread.
My desk is a mess right now. How does it get messy so quickly?!?! It's
a wonder that I even bother to clean it up knowing that it'll be messy soon
enough.
ok, i should go clean.
February 23, 2003 - 9.40PM
Led worship today for Sunday Service. I prepare more at times and less
at other times. Unfortunately this time I didn't prepare as much as I should
have... well, actually I should say that I did not prepare as early as I should
have. But the Lord was gracious and prepared my heart for that time. After singing
through the first song (Commune With Me) my heart was really full of appreciation,
just for the simple fact that we are so blessed to be even able to dwell in
His courts. I'm not sure about everyone else, but the Lord moved my heart today.
I thought Pastor Sam's message was very good as well. It's quite amazing how
the Lord can continually make a message so refreshing and encouraging even thought
the topic is often discussed and quite fundamental to the Christian faith (this
case being grace and mercy). It is quite true that we understand and appreciate
grace so much more when we understand mercy. When we see what sinners we are
and experience our Lord withholding from us the consequences we deserve, I believe
it deepens our understanding and appreciation of grace. I also really agree
with his comment today regarding grace and how today we often expect it. I've
been thinking about my own life and how little I've really had to suffer and
persevere in my own life. For many of the people I know, we are second generation
Chinese... our parents had to work hard to come to the US. Not only that but
they had to work hard to make a living for themselves and to raise their children
and provide for us the best they could. In most instances, we have it really
good. I see that my parents really did sacrifice much for my brother and myself...
they endured through a lot. I can't even say that I can relate to that, because
honestly I haven't had to struggle all that much. I pray that I do not that
my Lord's grace for granted.
To be humble is to know one's place before the Lord..... Lord have
mercy upon me.... a sinner.
February 22, 2003 - 11.58PM
Made it just in time to fit it into the 22nd. Haven't had much time
lately to write anything. The weeks often just fly by. It's already almost March!
Well, at least I'm being productive with my time. Though it's always nice to
be able to have a little more free time.
Checked out Costco Home for the first time today. Most of the furniture is for
huge huge rooms, but there were some really comfortable recliners. If I had
the money... and the house :P, I'd just buy a bunch of those instead of a couch
haha. Oh and the Plasma TV's were a nice touch as well.
So found out recently that it wasn't just one pair of each animal that was in
the ark. "You shall take with you of every clean animal by sevens, a male
and his female; and of the animals that are not clean two, a male and his female;
also of the birds of the sky, by sevens, male and female, to keep offspring
alive on the face of all the earth" - Genesis 7.2-3
Tried a garden burger for the first time today. I brought them along with chicken
patties for lunch today. It wasn't that bad actually. But then again I did add
a slice of pepperjack cheese along with lettuce and ketchup. But it's all good.
There's still a bunch of them left though... I guess I'll just eat those on
Wednesday night when I meet up with the hs bro's.
February 19, 2003 - 9.47PM
Good time of worship with the hs guys today. It's always great to worship
freely: to sing, lift our hands, praise, cry out, sing quitely, sing loudly,
however we are touched by the Spirit. I need to start playing guitar again though
as my fingers were killing me after only playing a number of songs.
My boss was telling me today that there are at least 50 people who applied for
that position that I interviewed for. Hmm... that's quite a lot. Well Lord willing
I'll get a second interview, and if not then I'll keep plugging away and doing
my best.
You know... I'm actually starting to like the taste of coffee. I've never been
much of a coffee drinker, but after drinking a cup here and a cup there, it's
actually quite good. I still don't drink it very often, but I have found that
I much prefer coffee just straight up. Black is the way to go.
Bought a refurbished XBOX today. Al got one as well... hopefully he convinced
a couple others to as well so that we can link these puppies up! Too
bad none of us has an HDTV as the XBOX supports HDTV if you purchase an adapter
(of course...) Well, it's been pre-ordered, so no playing until mid to late
March I guess.

Yowza! Gas is starting to get pretty high (yes I know, not as high
as the rest of the world). I bet the gas companies are just playing on the fear
of the public of an impending war and just fattening their pockets. I still
remember the good ol' days of .99 cent gas during the Gulf War. Oh well, good
thing I don't have a very long drive to work.
Had a training session at work today regarding tracking non sellable inventory.
It was actually pretty interesting and I learned a lot. It's cool to continue
to learn more functions in the system so that I can better manuver around in
it to find the info that I need. Also went to a lunch seminar about "Investing
in a volatile market" haha, I knew going in exactly what they were going
to talk about and yet I still went. Oh well, good to every now and again get
away from the desk for lunch.
Yikes, already 6.00, time for dinner and then off to prayer meeting.
February 17, 2003 - 7.15PM
Well, back from Arizona. First thing I saw when the plane touched down
in Phoenix was pouring rain. Haha, I guess I bring the rain with me. It cleared
up quite nice though and the weather turned out to be pretty warm. All in all
a pretty nice weekend.... though I need to brush up on those tennis skills.
Take a look at these pics - pic

Not as much work to make up as I thought I would have. Maybe it's just cause
everyone else had the day off so I had no one to email? haha well either way,
it seemed like I got through more than I thought I would be able to today. I've
found that so far work has always been interesting. Seems to be something new
going on each day. I wonder if that's just procurement in general, or if that's
the same with other people. Though I haven't heard too many people say that
they actually enjoy going into work each day. I guess that's quite a blessing.
Went to work out with Barry. I've actually been pretty good about going into
the gym regularly the past month or so. I ran into a guy I went to high school
with at the gym today. I didn't really know him very well as he only was at
my highschool for a year and a half, but it's always nice to bump into someone
that's familiar.
Got Grace's email about Doug today, so I spent some time praying for
him. It's pretty hard to be consistantly praying for something or someone. I
realize that we ought to pray until the burden is discharged, but it's weird
in cases like this. We spend time praying for a brother who's sick, but then
when he's healthy again or on the road to recovery we seem to stop praying.
Has the burden been discharged or am I just thinking that is the point that
we "supposed" to pray to? So if one gets sick again, is that a different
burden or the same one not prayed through? hmm... interesting, interesting.
Anyone have some thoughts on the matter?
February 12, 2003 - 8.03PM
Hmm... quite an interesting day. I was called up by the buyer to move
up my interview to 11.30. So I was all ready, but then he was called into a
meeting so he had to push it back to the original 12.30 slot. Course the meeting
ran long so he wasn't able to see me until 5 :) Oh well, no biggie. It didn't
really matter to me. I'd have been fine interviewing at any time, as long as
I got the chance to interview. He seemed like a pretty smart individual. Seemed
to me he knew exactly what he was looking for in the assistant buyer that he
wanted to hire. Did I fit? Not really sure, but I think I presented a pretty
decent case and that I gave quite a few valid reasons as to why he should pick
me. Overall, quite a good experience. Guess I'll know more in a week or so.
So... I was looking at my cell phone today. My phone is quite
old and has taken its share of abuse from being dropped a few times. Ok, a little
more than a few times. Anyways, my phone has a minutes tracker that keeps a
log of how many minutes I have logged on the phone for however long I have owned
it. I'm close to reaching 400 hours!!! Is that a lot compared to everyone else?
Hmm... well I have had this phone for a long time. But yes, almost 17 days of
my life has been spent on this phone. Of course I am actually doing something
while I am on the phone. Driving in the car, walking to school, and yes... playing
softball :P
February 11, 2003 - 7.09PM
Well, I got an interview tomorrow for an assistant buyer position.
My boss was giving me some tips and helping me prep for it. It's actually pretty
cool the type of relationship that I have with my boss. I can honestly say that
he's a good friend. It's too bad that's not often the case with many jobs out
there. I'm really enjoying myself at my current position... compensated well?
haha not really, but definitely enjoying myself. So, I'll give it a go tomorrow
and see how the Lord provides. I know that I'll be the one with the least amount
of experience there and I'm sure there will be a ton of people who are qualified,
but I'm pretty confident that I would not only be able to do the job, but that
I'd do it quite well. But like I said, I'm really leaving up the outcome in
the Lord's hand. I'm content where I'm at, and really liking it... we'll see
what happens. Ok, well time to go prep for it... update to come.
February 10, 2003 - 11.00PM
OK, well since I've been looking at other people's sites recently, I guess I
have kind of renewed my long lost desire to work on my webpage. Haha, well not
exactly sure how long this one will last, but hopefully I'll be able to get
something up. Nothing really interesting to tell right now, so I'll write about
the story of my picture above. Yup, that's me... in actually a substantial amount
of pain. You'd think I'd be happy since I'm in Italy, but just before that picture
was taken, I had fallen onto the rocks below and bruised my butt :) Man... had
to fall onto a piece of that stupid rock that wedged perfectly into my pigu!
So, I shall leave you all with that nice little picture. Maybe I'll add a video
clip of the incident here sometime... haha maybe not.
