I like it this time of year. Especially in the beginning when you put on another blanket or comforter on your bed and you feel the warmth as you go to bed. The draw back though is that you don't want to get out of bed in the morning :P

Forgot to mention that another option that I contemplated was to slip the ring on her finger when she was asleep :)

Well, it finally went down this weekend. I proposed :)

Sorry to all who didn't hear from me first hand. I tried to keep it quite as it was supposed to be a surprise.

Harold McCord case

Thought this was an interesting case, mostly because the Seattle Police Department seems to be finding themselves in this situation a lot the past few years. Shooting and killing an unarmed black man twice that I can remember and shooting and killing another black man who had some sort of knife (though I don't think it was a big knife).

I don't envy the position that these police officers are in. Decisions need to be made in seconds sometimes. A lot of times they don't have the luxury to fully think through things. I'm also pretty sure that these officers did not deliberately kill these people on purpose, and may have even feared for their life or the life of others. What got me to thinking was... would this really have happened if these men were white? I really don't think so. It's a shame, but I think it's due to the fear of the unknown. People naturally fear the unknown and I think in the split instance that it took... that fear took place for rational thinking. What would I have done in that situation? Not sure... but then again I haven't been trained for those situations either. Didn't really come to any conclusions thus far as to who I think was right or wrong; just saw the validity of both arguments. The police are frustrated that they can't do their job if they feel like they can't adequately protect their life as well as the community without being accused of murder, etc and the black community wonders why their people keep getting killed when they are unarmed.
